Deer Hunting

My family loves to hunt, especially deer. So in this entry I will wright about the day in the life of a deer hunter.

Every year, around the middle of October, my dad, uncle, grandpa, and I go to Twisp, In eastern Washington. There we meet my cousins at our cabin on Twisp River Road. The next morning we wake up at 6:00 and eat something small. Then we get are coats on, grab are rifles, and head to the truck. After we get to were where going to hunt, we get out and decide what to do. Where we hunt depends on what kind of day it is. If it's a nice day, the deer will be moving around, finding food. But if it's a day where it's raining or snowing, the deer will be hunkered down waiting out the weather. After we hike up to the top of the mountain were on( stopping to glass the hillside every now and then ) we stop to for a while to see if any deer move around. If no deer come in a half an hour to forty-five minutes, we head back down. Now if we got a deer, we would have to gut it, But I'll save that for next week.

WOW I wish went hunting more often. I've gone once before with Wes. But we didn't get anything. I think I think I might get to go again. Well I hope you will get a deer next time.

As Isaac said I need to go hunting more, but I don't use a rifle I use a bow. I can't wait till next week when you tell us how to gut a deer. The deer are smart to sit and wait through the weather. That's nice you get together with your family every year and hunt together, and it is really nice that all of you do something you all like. I will comment you later, and good skill at the game today

I'v never gone hunting and understand that it was traditionally a mans sport. i want to but my grandpa doesn't trust me whith a gun. im not so sure i trust my self whith any thing but a bb gun. not to purposly shoot any one but i don' t wan't to shoot my foot and i alwase forget to turn the safty off when using a bb gun. i have only used a bb gun once at summer camp but i knock over a can(when i was aiming for a candy box).

Hey! Whats up. I like this post. I love deer hunting also. I shot a 3 x 3 last year with a .243. I had the head mounted and it's kind of creepy.

Dane, Deer hunting sounds like a lot of fun. I have been duck hunting before. In duck hunting we used shotguns. I have never had venison. This is a well written blog.

I can't wait to get my hunting licence. I've been try to take the hunters saftey course but haven't gotten around to it yet. I love going to the Rod and Gun club. I went with some friends of mine once. We shot clay pigeons It was awesome. I used the 20 gauge most of the time and hit about five out of seven. I also used a 12 gauge and shot a clay pigeon, it was sweet.
