In this blog entry I will write about how to gut a deer.
After you have shot and killed the deer, you will have to hike up, or down, to the deer. When you get there you will want to cut off it's stink gland, which are located on the inside of the back leg. After you have done that, cut it up the middle of it's body, from it's anus to it's sternum. Then you take out all the organs in the lower body. After you have done that, you will have to cut out the stretch of skin holding the upper organs in. When you have cut the skin out, then then grab the heart and cut it out, (if you want to keep it to eat, then put it in a plastic sack. You can do the same with the liver.) Wants you have taken the organs out, then take a saw and saw through the sternum to the neck, (this will allow the deer to cool down faster. You will want to do this so flies wont get to the meat.) You are now done. But you still have to drag it down to the truck.

Okay Dane, that's a little disturbing. Wow, so... You gave a detailed account on how to gut a deer. A little gross, but, I'm sure that you enjoy every part of hunting, which includes the nasty parts. In fact, you're going hunting today! I hope you have fun.
Dane, thats a pretty graphic picture that you have in this entry. It sounds like you really like to hunt deer. I have been bird hunting once. Have you ever gut a deer? A very well written entry.

Nice entry! When I gutted my deer last year we din't cut off the stink gland until we skinned it. We didn't saw all the way to the neck either. We only cut about half way up so we could get the head mounted. Your trip Sounded like alot of fun though!

i agree with jack. that is very disturbing. i dont get how people can kill an inocent deer or any other animal. i admit, i love meat. as long as i dont have to kill it and "gut" it, im perfectly fine. p.s. thank you for making me want to gag!!
Hey Dane, this was an interesting topic. It seems you really like deer hunting though. I have never been hunting, one time I shot at a bird though. I do not think I would be able to do this. Have you ever completed this task?
